The 'Third' Space

Don't have space for all those craft supplies? We do! Don't want to buy more craft supplies but want to experiment? Use ours!

Third spaces are a relatively recent phenomenon. As social media and technology push us further into isolation, The Social Hermit seeks to challenge this status quo by having a 'third space', not my house, not your house, but somewhere in between. A space for people to connect in a less-structured, homely, and relaxed environment, kind of like a communal lounge room - with extra storage space.

A Home Away From Home

The Social Hermit welcomes you! Use the studio like a co-working space for creatives,  arts and craft hotdesking, bring some friends for a casual craft hang or start your own group or club!

The only requirements we have are that your group;

  • Has a mental health and well-being focus

  • Promotes social connectivity

  • Is neurodivergent, BIPOC, First Nations and Queer friendly

  • Creative focus is great but not completely necessary

We also welcome support workers and NDIS participants with psychosocial disabilities who want a creative space to meet and be creative in, please get in touch with us via email.

The Social Hermit acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land we work on, Wadjuk Boorloo Noongar Boodja, and pays respects to Elders past and present. Sovereignty was never ceded, we need a treaty now.
